Leaves crunch outside, the air smells of cold rain, and somewhere deep in the forest a bear is very, very hungry. Before he curls up in his den for the long winter sleep, he has to eat. A small hand reaches for a blueberry. Click, it drops into his wide-open mouth. Then an acorn with a 4. Then four apples.
The Feed the Bear Counting Set turns the story of hibernation into a posting and counting game. Children feed the bear through his big open mouth, then lift his head to discover everything he ate, waiting in the den below.
All pieces are 3D printed in colour (not hand-painted), ready to play straight out of the box.
What's in the set
- Bear head with a big open mouth for feeding
- Round den bowl that sits behind the head and catches the food
- Acorns numbered 0–9
- Number cut-outs 0–9
- Standing bear tray
- A plate of apples and blueberries in two styles
Ways to play
- Feed the bear. Post the food through his mouth: aiming and pushing builds hand-eye coordination and a precise grip.
- Numbers 0–9. Find the acorns in order, or feed the bear "the acorn with a 5, then 5 blueberries".
- Sort and classify. Berries here, apples there, acorns in a row.
- Hibernation story. Talk about why bears eat so much in autumn and sleep all winter.
- Sensory bin. Add green pasta grass, lentils or rice and hunt for hidden food.
Why children love it
Numbers become something they can touch, count and feed to a hungry bear, and the surprise of lifting his head never gets old. You get to watch the quiet of deep focus settle over the play table.
